Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce

Christmas Parade

‘Tis the Season!

If you like to see horses and riders, homecoming and pageant queens, cool cars, BIG tractors, firetrucks, funny go-karts driven by Shriners, and lots of floats with lights and kids- the Chamber’s Christmas parade is for you!

The first Thursday in December is always the date for the Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas Parade in Luverne starting at 6 PM. lt is a time of great teamwork and camaraderie as companies, churches and groups work on floats for the parade.

Our current Chamber Citizen of the Year always serves as the Grand Marshall.

The Grand Marshall  hosts the parade, which includes floats, Santa Claus, fire engines, marching bands, antique cars, convertibles carrying homecoming queens from the four Crenshaw County schools, cheerleaders, horse drawn carriages and horse riders, and lots of other entries.

In addition to the entertainment factor, entrants in the parade all donate new toys to the Crenshaw County Department of Human Resources (DHR) to support Operation Santa Claus, which every year provides Christmas packages to 450-500 children. DHR has boxes at the end of the parade route in which the toys are deposited. In generous spirit, Crenshaw County provides for its children at this holiday time of year.
