Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce

Christmas Tree Lighting and Annual Christmas Parade

On Thursday, December 3, 2015, the Chamber Board of Directors hosted the 6th Annual Tree Lighting in downtown Luverne.  Festivities included singing by the Crenshaw School choirs led by Mr. Jim Head, hanging of ornaments decorated by kindergarten children from all four Crenshaw County schools.  President Don Nix counted down to the tree lighting performed by Mrs. Sandy Walker, the 2015 Citizen of the Year.  Hot chocolate and fellowship kept the parents and children and local residents busy.  Downtown merchants remained open until 7:30 p.m. for shopping convenience.

On Saturday, December 5, 2015, the Chamber hosted the Annual Christmas Parade.  The parade lasted over an hour and many beautiful floats, marching groups, queens from all four schools and individuals kept the parade watchers entertained.  All participants in the parade are asked to donate toys for DHR Toy Drive and the boxes were full!  Over 136 motorcycles brought up the rear of the parade and they contributed toys also.  The Chamber thanks all who participated for a wonderful event.
